Why the “Big Beautiful Bill” Makes Menopause Support at Work More Urgent and Strategic

ree

There’s a lot of political spin around the newly signed “One Big Beautiful Bill”, but if you look past the soundbites, the implications for healthcare, and for workplace wellbeing, are hard to ignore.

The bill includes nearly $1 trillion in cuts to Medicaid and over $500 billion in Medicare reductions. Experts estimate that as a result, 11 to 12 million Americans may lose coverage. As public programs shrink, private insurance plans will carry more of the burden, and so will the employers who offer them.

According to an analysis shared by Barron’s, employer premiums could rise by up to $485 per employee per year, as hospitals attempt to offset losses from uncompensated care and insurers tighten reimbursement structures. Meanwhile, new Medicaid work requirements, higher copays, and stricter eligibility will leave many employees, especially lower-wage or part-time workers, navigating a confusing, narrowed path to care.

And in the middle of all this? Millions of people navigating menopause without clear answers or support.

At MiDOViA, we work with organizations every day that are trying to close these gaps before they widen. And the changes from this bill make our work (and yours) even more important.

"We’re already seeing how confusing it can be for people to access menopause care under normal conditions," says Kim Hart, President and Co-founder of MiDOViA. "This bill adds more complexity. That’s why organizations need to step in to support their people and to reduce the very real cost of inaction."

Let’s look at what’s at stake and why focused, workplace-based menopause support is one of the smartest investments an employer can make right now.

What This Means for Employers

The fallout from this bill won’t be immediate, but it will be felt. Here’s how:

  • Rising premiums will impact your bottom line, and more employees may delay care as deductibles climb or coverage becomes unclear.

  • Burnout and presenteeism could rise as employees try to push through unmanaged symptoms like fatigue, brain fog, anxiety, and joint pain.

  • Confusion over benefits could increase, especially as the bill expands telehealth options and HSA eligibility, but also creates more tiers and complexities in coverage.

And here’s the problem: menopause is already a misunderstood and under-addressed area of health. Add the above pressure, and we risk even more employees falling through the cracks.

Why Menopause Support Matters Now More Than Ever

MiDOViA gives organizations a way to respond with clarity, compassion, and impact.

We help employees navigate their care with confidence, give managers the tools to support their teams, and provide leadership with a proven path forward. And in a time of growing uncertainty, that kind of consistency matters.
